2009 Policy Information


Following are details on RiskMetrics Group's core policies for the 2009 proxy season, which will be in effect for shareholder meetings on or after February 1, 2009. For 2008 policies, click here.

Updated policy summaries and concise policy guidelines, along with updated specialty policies (Taft-Hartley, Public Fund, Social and Environmental, Faith-Based), will be posted by the end of the year.

2009 U.S. Policy
The RiskMetrics core U.S. corporate governance policy is used to analyze proposals on the proxy ballots of U.S. corporations.

 

2009 International Policy
RiskMetrics' core International corporate governance policy is used to analyze proposals on the proxy ballots of companies domiciled outside of the United States and United Kingdom. Our international policy guidelines cover more than 115 markets worldwide and take local market practices into account. Disclosure and transparency requirements, which vary widely across global markets, are a major focus of our core international policy.

 

2009 Canadian Policy
RiskMetrics' Canadian corporate governance policy is incorporated into its core International corporate governance policy described above. However, recognizing certain local market practices, annual policy updates for Canada are published separately.
