Clients utilizing the Web Services delivery channel have on-demand access to the RiskServer Analytics Calculation Grid, RiskMetrics Group’s DataMetrics Service for market data, and the RiskMetrics Terms & Conditions Service for listed securities, providing for coherence and consistency of risk information. In addition, clients can connect their decision-making tools to RiskMetrics Group’s What-If Service enabling on-demand analyses of potential strategies on existing portfolios and funds.

RiskMetrics’ Web Services allow clients access to the full computational power of our RiskServer architecture. For example we recently implemented Web Services for a large Hedge Fund client looking to integrate our risk statistics with their portfolio management system and run intra-day risk analysis. Meeting this client need, we now process 2 million positions of their positions on-demand, generating over 10 million statistics with the computational complexity equivalent to running paramedic VaR on 9 Billion US equity positions.
